Building Information Modeling (BIM) Services

The Future of the Industry Is BIM.

Applied Software provides a best-in-class portfolio of services to allow you to achieve extraordinary BIM success: [Let each one link to para below]

BIM Team Readiness Assessment

If you are in the process of selecting your contractors and subcontractors, the BIM Team Assessment plays a vital role in determining the skills and capabilities of each and every team member. Applied Software can perform skills assessments to determine the team member’s mastery of BIM software and design using BIM techniques. You will get a ‘Gap Analysis’ which contains recommendations for training to improve certain skill levels. [return to top]

BIM Ecosystem Briefings

BIM Ecosystem Briefings are designed to provide support to general contractors and others in the AEC community who want to design and communicate standards to the architects, engineers and others that participate together in BIM-based designs and construction. Applied Software can jointly lead these briefings to ensure that key information and standards are effectively communicated.[return to top]

BIM Execution Plan Development

The BIM Execution Plan (BEP) documents the standards and protocols for how the team (GC, AEC Firms and others) will work together in the design and construction of buildings. The BEP will define the level of detail (LOD) to be modeled, file exchange processes, naming standards, the roles the different parties play in the modeling process and more. The more thorough the BEP is prior to work commencing, the more smoothly the entire project will go. Applied Software can assist you in developing a BEP that meets both your and your team’s needs. [return to top]

BIM Modeling (Architecture, Structure, MEP, Civil)

BIM Modeling represents the central focus of the effort in design and in constructability analysis. Applied Software has architects, engineers and other highly skilled professionals who can design BIMs from scratch or who can convert 2D drawings to 3D BIMs.[return to top]

BIM Validation

Often it makes good sense to have an outside party validate any and all BIMs that have been developed at key points throughout the project. Applied Software can review designs to ensure that the proper Level of Detail (LOD), naming standards and other design methods are properly documented. Applied Software can serve as that neutral, outside party to perform BIM Validation. Often, our BIM Validation will also serve to coach the design team on the improved use of the BIM software.[return to top]

BIM Analysis

The power of BIM is in its ability to perform powerful analysis on the data contained in the BIM. Analysis includes, but is not limited to:
Constructability Analysis
Energy Analysis
Quantity Take-off Analysis
Costing

Applied Software has the talent and experience to assist you with Analytic tool selection, training and application.[return to top]

BIM Collaboration Meeting Facilitation

Collaboration Meetings represent an important milestone that allow teams to resolve clashes before they are identified in the field. Effective collaboration meetings can save thousands and even hundreds of thousands of dollars which can provide increased profitability to all contracting teams. These meetings can happen in person or they can even be effectively conducted using web-based collaboration tools. Applied Software can instruct GCs and other team leaders in the effective running of collaboration meetings.[return to top]

BIM Software Training

Effective software training is critical to your overall project success. It is our experience working with thousands of students that there are wide ranges of competencies and standards in training. You have a choice where you spend your training dollars, and we encourage you to get training from the best! Applied Software’s Revit team was named Americas the trainer of the year by Autodesk for training conducted in 2008. A complete list of training courses and class dates are regularly updated at www.asti.com. Applied Software can also customize any of these classes to match your unique situation and can also provide training at your location, minimizing travel and time out of the office.[return to top]

BIM Mentoring

We recognize that you are under tight deadlines and that it is difficult to take time away from billable work to get the training and assistance you need. Applied Software can provide side-by-side mentoring to you and your team that allows you to do actual BIM design and analysis project work while we coach you to achieve optimal results.[return to top]
