Just about every civil engineering project has some form of grading, which normally consists of a face bounded by a base line, a target line, and several projection lines. The tools in Civil 3D allows the base line to be a feature line, a lot line, or any open or closed figure from which to project the grading. Feature line grading allows any linear feature in the drawing to be used, with the target being a surface, distance or elevation. In this class we will go over two different methods of grading: project grading (mastering the grading tools) and feature line grading. Either method will make the design of your projects faster and more accurate.
