Deleting a Dimension Segment (Not a Witness Line) in Revit

In today’s installment of “I can’t believe I didn’t know this” or “I’m almost too embarrassed to post this, but just  in case someone else didn’t know, I will.” One of the things I love about teaching is that I almost always learn something myself whenever I teach a class. Last week, during a week-long session with the architects and interior designers of Bennett Benner Partners in Fort Worth, Amanda Schulte, a Senior Associate, showed me this:

If you want to delete a dimension line segment (not a witness line, but an entire segment of the dimension line), simply use the <TAB> key to select the segment and press the <DELETE> key. Like I said… I can’t believe I didn’t know that. But I didn’t, so I suspect that maybe some others didn’t either.

Did you know about this? Comment below if you did!

Best,

Matt Dillon
