MEP Force kicked off last month with a bang. If you haven’t already heard, MEP Force is an exclusive conference for an elite force of MEP heroes to unite and learn from other industry experts. For those looking to gain a competitive edge and see new technology and trends in prefab and fabrication, this conference is a must.

Although the focus on the conference was sharing ideas and learning, there were plenty of opportunities for networking and fun. Held in the heart of Austin, TX, the event opened with a welcome reception on Monday evening and included private block parties Tuesday night. Richard Davis serves as National BIM Manager and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Limbach Modeling Production System (LMPS) utilized at all Limbach branches. Chris Weaver is the Director of Technology for Andy Egan and strongly believes software should save you time rather than waste your time. During Chris’ presentation, he discussed the value of time and explained how Andy Egan worked with Applied Software to find solutions through better workflows.

Connected BIM, Martin Schmid
Martin Schmid is the Product Manager of MEP Design and Fabrication for Autodesk. Martin gave the audience a background on where fabrication software started and where it is going. Autodesk is working on gathering feedback from the MEP community to further enhance their offerings.

The MEP industry does a lot of heavy lifting in day to day construction across the country and around the world.
