Publish Civil 3D Surface to Revit Topo – 2019.1

All, Architecture and Engineering, BIM 360, Civil 3D 1 Comment

The latest versions of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Autodesk Revit has just been released (this is the 2019.1 release). In the releases, there is a new set of tools that allow for the sharing of a Civil 3D surface with a Revit topo. Basically the process is as follows:

  1. Install the Autodesk Desktop Connector
  2. Make sure you have access to a BIM 360 project
  3. Publish the surface from Civil 3D to the BIM 360 project
  4. Link the surface in the BIM 360 project to the topo in Revit

For more details and a walkthrough of the steps, please watch the following video:

What do you think? Will this workflow suffice for the projects you work on or do you need something else? Feel free to comment on this and let us know your thoughts!

  1. Hi, I have a question for you, i have follow this guide but how can i link a civil surface with the original coordinate system? becuse i´ve tried to move the survey point in revit, so i have link the surface from civil 3D and the surface goes in the rigth position. The prblem is when i reload thr linked surface; if i reload it, revit change the position of the survey point, if i reload again it change anothe time this position. do you have the same problem? thank you
