John Ade is a Registered Architect with more than 24 years of experience practicing architecture for a number of Atlanta’s leading architectural firms. In the last 15 years, he has concentrated on IT management and CAD/BIM systems support, development and implementation. This focus has allowed him to excel in his knowledge of leading systems and also in their practical application to solving today’s complex design and project challenges.
As an Associate Principal of design technology at The Preston Partnership, John was responsible for researching all new software technologies for use within the firm. This included managing the evaluation, deployment and support for Revit Architecture, Revit Structure and Architectural Desktop. The technology was deployed throughout the multi-disciplinary firm located in six US cities.
As a Senior Application Specialist specializing in BIM at Applied Software, John provides consulting services, project mentoring and application training to leading firms throughout the Southeast. His unique background in both project management and technology deployment allows him to provide valuable consulting on executive strategies which assist owners and principals in the deployment of BIM solutions.
Clinton Cook graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Building Construction. Prior to joining Applied Software, Clinton worked for Turner Construction where he performed many different roles and functions within the organization. During his tenure at Turner he was Estimating Engineer, Field Engineer, and a Cost Engineer.
In these roles he has been exposed to most facets of the industry and worked directly with many of the upper management staff. During his time at Turner he actively participated in the Sustainability committee, was a Lean Leader within his business unit and was presented with a National Innovation Distinction award, National Finance Innovation Award and the business unit Making a Difference Award. His broad industry knowledge combined with his problem solving ability and technical expertise make him a great addition to any team.
As an Implementation Specialist at Applied software he works with project teams to implement new Field management software. He also works closely with the development team at Applied software to help develop custom solutions to real industry problems.
Matt Dillon is a senior technical solutions specialist with over twenty years of expert-level project experience. He has over 20 years of experience consulting with and teaching numerous AEC firms in the implementation of BIM and CAD software, combining sound analytical skills with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Dillon also has extensive architectural industry knowledge and experience, combined with high level technical skills and the ability to adjust to rapidly changing project requirements.
He co-authored “Autodesk Architectural Desktop – an Advanced Implementation Guide, 2nd Edition” in 2007. Matt has been a highly rated Autodesk University speaker since 2000 and was a recipient of the Autodesk University “Distinguished Speaker” award in 2010.
Kenneth Driscol graduated in 1995 from University of Akron with a degree in Civil Engineering and Construction Technology.
Ken is a Senior Technical Specialist in Civil Infrastructure for Applied Software with over 20 years’ experience in the Civil Engineering industry. Prior to joining the Autodesk reseller partner channel, he was a Design Engineer for an ENR 500 ranked design firm. Mr. Driscol is an Autodesk Certified Product Support Professional and has reached the level of Civil Engineering Certified Implementation Expert.
He regularly conducts seminars on the use of Autodesk Technology in civil engineering and regularly provides implementation services, customization, training, and support to civil engineering professionals on Autodesk A/E/C BIM Technology Portfolio products. Ken has become the regional expert on BIM for Civil as it pertains to civil engineering practices and interoperability between other design disciplines in the AEC enterprise.
For the last 10 years, he has been a Senior Civil Application Specialist concentrating in Land Desktop, Civil 3D, Surveying, Map 3D, Hydrology and GIS services and instruction.
Scott Hallmark Began using AutoCAD Release 9 in 1988 in High School. With over 24 years of experience using, implementing and managing AutoCAD in a variety of disciplines including Structural Steel Detailing, Piping Design and Large Machine Design. Scott is trained in many 3D Solid Modeling applications including Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, ProEngineer and Solid-Edge.
Scott has been an Autodesk Reseller Channel member since 2005. Additionally, Scott was an IT/CAD Manager for 12 years as well for a large equipment manufacturing and design/build engineering firm in Alabama.
Scott Hendricks leads Applied Software’s technical services delivery for the Autodesk® Fabrication products. He is an experienced instructor and implementation expert for Autodesk Fabrication CADmep™, Fabrication ESTmep™, and Fabrication CAMduct™.
His skills also extend to application development and customization of the Autodesk Fabrication products. He is the primary author of the Applied Software Configuration Pack for the USA market which enhances the use of the Autodesk Fabrication products with Imperial standards.
Scott also creates course ware and video tutorials for the Fabrication products. He previously worked for an MEP contractor and was a union plumber and pipe fitter for over 26 years.
Gabe Hernandez Specializes in the MEP and Architectural products and provides training, implementation and product support services.
Gabe has expertise in designing and implementing BIM processes and workflows. He is an Autodesk Certified Instructor and a Certified Product Support Professional. He has also achieved Autodesk Technical Sales Professional status in multiple categories. Gabe previously worked for architectural firms and MEP consulting engineers.
Gabe assisted in obtaining one of the first Autodesk Fabrication Specialization authorizations in 2013.
Dennis Howell is an accomplished professional with over thirty years of experience in Project Management, Technical Account Management, CAD Management and Autodesk software leadership.
In his twenty-five year tenure with Applied Software he has conducted classes for thousands of architects and engineers throughout the United States. Dennis regularly receives accolades from his students who rate his instruction among the best they have received. He is regularly enlisted to lead the training and consulting on new product rollouts. He also frequently mentors and consults with clients on the BIM processes, applicable products that support the BIM process, product upgrade, BIM implementation and transition plans, as well as process improvement strategies so that clients can leverage current technologies and leading industry trends.
As a Senior Application Specialist at Applied Software specializing in Manufacturing Solutions, Dennis provides consulting services, project mentoring and application. His unique background in both project management and technology deployment allows him to provide valuable consulting on executive strategies which assist owners and principals in the deployment of BIM solutions.
During tenure at Applied Software, Dennis has acted as CAD/BIM Manager for services provided to many companies both in the AEC as well as the MFG in the Southeast. Other examples of services included training and BIM project production, Revit Family component creation, programming, implementation of Inventor and Plant 3D.
Kevin Howk has more than sixteen years of experience managing a variety of sophisticated client implementations. He has a breadth of experience that includes leading requirements analysis discovery, defining project scope, managing complex resources and providing timely delivery.
His technical expertise includes a variety of projects centered around Microsoft, Sun, and Linux based implementations. Kevin has experience with Wide Area Networking using Cisco and Riverbed products. He has successfully implemented document management products both inside and outside the CAD/CAM market space. Currently, he is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Associate, and Six Sigma Green Belt.
Lyle Janda is a technical advisor at Applied Software for the Autodesk Fabrication products. He has extensive experience in installing, training and supporting Fabrication CADmep, ESTmep, CAMduct, Tracker and RemoteEntry.
Lyle previously worked as a designer and drafter for an MEP contractor. He has contributed significantly towards the creation of the Applied Configuration pack for the US market and with the creation of course-ware and training materials. Lyle is also involved with Applied Software’s go-to-market strategy for the the Autodesk Fabrication Solutions knowledge-base.
Rick Kremer graduated from the Florida A&M University with a Master’s of Architecture degree in 1996. He also has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Florida in 1993. Rick has 22 years of experience with project delivery, workflows and direct architectural experience with commercial, institution and federal projects. In addition to his architectural work experience Rick was a valued adjunct professor at ITT Technical University as well as Palm Beach State University. He taught students how to transition to and effectively use Revit in helping them secure employment in the architecture and construction industry.
In the last 10 years Rick has focused on providing training and implementation for Revit and AutoCAD Architecture to the firms he worked at. As a CAD and BIM manager Rick found his passion to be in helping others “Work Smarter, not harder”. He has attended Autodesk University and is a current Beta tester for Autodesk applications.
Rick also teaches Revit Architecture using his past work experience in the industry combined with his knowledge of Revit to guide clients in making an easy transition from AutoCAD to Revit. Clients that he consults with as well as customers he provides technical support to frequently send letters of thanks and praise making Rick a valuable asset at Applied Software.
Jason Miles graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Drafting and Design and a minor in Computer Information Systems. In his former career, Jason learned and utilized Inventor and Maya to produce engineered drawings and photo realistic renderings used for design and marketing.
Jason trained others in Autodesk Inventor and provided IT support for Autodesk products. Currently, Jason works for Applied Software as a Senior Applications Specialist with responsibility for Autodesk Manufacturing Solutions.
Dave has over 22 years of solid experience providing consulting, training, technical support and product support for the manufacturing, architecture, engineering, and construction disciplines.
In his previous employment, he managed multiple manufacturing and architectural design projects and was an accomplished Adjunct Professor teaching CAD applications. He is an Autodesk Certified Instructor. Dave is an Autodesk Certified Product Support Professional and has also achieved Autodesk Technical Sales Professional status for Manufacturing Design.
Mark received his B.S. in Civil Engineering, an associate in Computer Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology before starting his engineering career in upstate New York. He worked 20+ years in the AEC industry where he started working as a surveyor then CAD/BIM Manager and IT Manager before joining Applied Software as a Consultant and Trainer. Mark Taught AutoCAD classes for 8 years at a local college.
Mark joined Applied Software as a Senior Application Specialist. His years of construction, AutoCAD, Revit, and consulting experience provide an excellent foundation to guide clients through the transition from CAD to BIM. In addition to AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, Revit Architecture, Mark is also the Applied Software Specialist in Autodesk QTO, Autodesk Showcase and BIM 360 Field and Glue. Mark is one of the few selected people who can teach BIM 101 for the AGC, the Associated General Contractors of America.
Jason Porter has more than 15 years of experience in surveying and civil design and has guided numerous firms from installation to successful utilization of AutoCAD, Map 3D, and Civil 3D. He is an Autodesk Certified Instructor and an Autodesk Certified Product Support Professional. He has also achieved Autodesk Technical Sales Professional status for Civil Infrastructure. Prior to

Michael Reuter is a Customer Success Advocate for Applied Software. He helps implement, train, set metrics, and follow up with BIM implementation for construction clients to ensure the success of implementation. Previously, he was a Project Engineer / BIM Coordinator for Archer Western, working on New Broughton Hospital in Morganton, NC, and an FBNO building near Virginia Beach, VA.
Michael graduated with a Masters of Building Science from Auburn University. I worked for o2 ideas for 5 years, starting out as a production designer & quickly moving up to art director a year later.
Before working at o2 ideas, he worked at his college newspaper for 3 years as an art director, account executive & creative director, as well as the editorial cartoonist.
David Ronson is technical adviser for ASTI specializing in the Fabrication Products. He has been on both sides of the fab fence, as former solution specialist supporting the fabrication products, as well as a database administrator utilizing the program in a production manner.
His industry and program knowledge are always on full display when it comes to troubleshooting, program issues and his attention to detail makes problem solving easy for all parties involved. David has been involved with Fabrication since the early days of MAP, and is now a premier member of ASTI’s Fabrication Technical team.
Since 1988 he has practiced architecture in Los Angeles, Honolulu and Atlanta. Rabi is a registered Architect, adjunct professor and a senior AEC solutions consultant at Applied Software. In his current role, he provides AEC project planning/implementation, trains AEC professionals on (BIM) applications including Revit Architecture, Revit Structure, Navisworks, Infraworks 360, FormIt 360 Pro, A360 Collaboration for Revit, and Autodesk Sustainable Design Solutions.
Autodesk recognized Rabi as having received the highest ratings from students for instructor performance. He was named (ATC) Instructor of the Year for 2007. In 2009 he received the North America award for distinguished performance in Revit Architecture.
Deni started using AutoCAD with version 2.6 in 1987 in the private sector. She moved to the reseller network in 1989 where she began her career supporting and training end users on Autodesk products. She has had the opportunity to instruct in the Community College arena, within the reseller network, at AUGI CAD Camp in 2005, and at Autodesk University in 2009.
Deni has successfully completed both Associate and Professional Certifications from Autodesk and currently holds the status of an Autodesk Certified Professional. While Deni has enjoyed her years as an instructor, she is extremely happy in her current position with CAD-1 as a Technical Specialist.
It is here that she enjoys the diversity and challenge of the questions and problems presented by the varied levels of users. Deni is willing to tackle any technical support problem that users have!
Tony Crawford holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and his knowledge extends across industry realms. A CAD manager instrumental in developing CAD Standards; BIM Director/Manager responsible for implementing Revit MEP and in Facilities Management, where he was responsible for creating conceptual models for large A/E firms.
As our top Revit MEP trainer, Tony provides one-on-one and classroom training and oversees Revit MEP implementations, project consultation and technical support.
Since 1991, Warren has been working with AutoCAD, which he learned while serving in the Air Force. He enjoyed the program so much that, shortly after learning AutoCAD, he became the CADD manager at his unit. After serving 10 years in the Air Force he entered the private sector, where he worked as a CADD manager for Civil Engineering firms in Lakewood.
In 1998 he joined an Autodesk reseller and training center to help establish in-house training and support programs. He is now the Training Center Manager for CAD-1, Inc. and has earned Autodesk Certified Instructor status. He has taught for many professional conferences and won an award from Autodesk for instructional quality.
With over 20 years of industry experience in the Civil and GIS fields, Warren always tries to apply a different approach to each client, based on their particular needs.
Shortly after graduating in 1998 from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Brian began doing design work in a general civil engineering firm using Land Development Desktop. Learning the software on his own, he soon became the resident expert in both LDT as well as AutoCAD. As soon as Civil 3D was released, Brian realized the potential it had and began devoting his free time to learning its ins and outs.
Joining the ranks of the CAD-1 technical specialists in the fall of 2006, Brian has been training engineers and drafters to successfully use Civil 3D in their firms. He is an Autodesk Certified Instructor and has passed the Professional Certification from Autodesk.
Brian has also taught at Autodesk University, Denver AUGI CAD Camp and numerous professional trade shows, and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Colorado.
Norah has an Associate’s Degree as a Mechanical Drafter from Community College of Denver in 2008. She worked in the oil & gas and mining industry as a piping drafter and designer while attending school, and continued to work in the industry after graduation. During those 10 years, she discovered that her true passion was more information-technology related.
Norah’s new position made her responsible for setting up software to meet company and client standards and needs, as well as troubleshooting issues with drawings and/or software problems. Norah flourished in her new position and became the CAD manager. While holding this position, she helped create, implement and enforce CAD standards and support various CAD software programs for a multi-discipline oil & gas and mining company.
With this varied background, Norah was a natural to recently join the team at CAD-1 as a Technical Specialist.
Barbara first learned AutoCAD as an architecture student at Iowa State University in 1987. After working in construction and architecture as a drafter, she moved into a CAD position with an architect in 1992. She worked on a wide variety of projects including residential, churches and educational facilities.
In 1997 Barbara moved to Colorado and began teaching AutoCAD and architectural design classes at a local college. In 2008 she also began teaching Revit to her college students. Barbara joined the CAD-1 team in the summer of 2014, teaching AutoCAD and Revit Architecture classes.
She is a registered architect in Colorado and is an Autodesk Certified Professional and an Autodesk Certified Instructor.
